Web dev types: Check how Jarred Bishop handles the backgrounds for his image/video posts to his tumblr. It’s so slick, you guys. I did a legitimate, full-on double take when I first scrolled onto it, followed immediately by a “did he just do that?!”
I spend a fair amount of time keeping with web design stuff, so not many things surprise me, but that sure did. Simple, clever, eye-catching. Awesome!
I just redid my tumblr to match my main site. It uses the awesome (and free) Titillium as the primary display font (powered by @font-face), jQuery for the fading effects, and Tumblr magic for the rest.
Motivated by the always-great bobulate.com, I decided to give myself more room to write about the things being posted, and also make the design friendlier towards all-text posts.
What do you think?
